This Privacy Policy explains how SWM LLC, doing business as Lantern (“Lantern,” “we,” “us”) collects, uses, and protects your information when you visit our website, download our free guide, join our email list or book waitlist, or buy our book.

Information we collect

• When you request the free guide, join our email list, or join the book waitlist: your first name and email address.
• When you buy the printed book: your name, email address, shipping address, and phone number if you provide one. Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
• When you email us: whatever you choose to include in your message.
• Automatically when you visit: basic technical information such as your browser type, device, pages visited, and approximate location based on your IP address. This is collected through cookies and similar tools (see “Cookies and advertising” below).

The readiness quiz on our website runs in your browser. Your quiz answers are not sent to us or stored.

How we use your information

• To send you the free guide and the emails you signed up for.
• To process, print, and ship your order, and to send order and shipping updates.
• To answer your questions and handle refunds.
• To understand how our website and ads perform, and to show our ads to people likely to find them useful.
• To comply with the law and protect against fraud.

Who we share it with

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run Lantern, and only as needed for them to do their job:

• Payment processing: Stripe, to take payment securely.
• Printing and shipping: our print partner Lulu, which receives your name and shipping address to print and mail your book.
• Email delivery: MailerLite, which stores your name and email to send our emails.
• Website hosting and analytics, and advertising platforms such as Meta (Facebook) as described below.

We may also share information if required by law, to protect our rights or the safety of others, or as part of a sale or transfer of the business.

Cookies and advertising

Our website may use cookies and tools such as the Meta Pixel to measure how people find and use our site and to show Lantern ads on Facebook and Instagram to people who may be interested. These tools may collect information about your visit and your device. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and you can manage ad preferences in your Facebook account settings. Blocking cookies will not stop the website from working.

Emails from us

If you sign up for the free guide, we will email it to you along with a short series of preparedness tips and occasional offers. Every email includes an unsubscribe link. You can also email steve[at]weswm.co and we will remove you.

How long we keep it

We keep your email address until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. We keep order records as long as needed for shipping, refunds, taxes, and accounting, typically up to seven years.

Your choices and rights

You can ask us to tell you what personal information we have about you, correct it, or delete it. Email steve[at]weswm.co and we will respond within 30 days. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under state law. We will not treat you differently for using them.

Keeping it safe

We use trusted service providers and reasonable safeguards to protect your information. No method of storing or sending information online is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children

Lantern is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed. Significant changes will be posted on this page.
